Buildings & Grounds Committee
"For no one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is Jesus Christ"
1 Corinthians 3:10-11

Purpose and Mission

The Buildings & Grounds Committee (B&G) is established by the Session to maintain, supervise and protect the church's physical properties which include the church building, parish hall, the church office building, Brainerd & Westminster cemeteries, and the manses at 46 South Main Street and 25 South Main Street.

Key Ministries and Initiatives
Property Maintenance

B&G is charged with maintaining and repairing the many buildings owned by the church. This is a huge undertaking as it involves everything from minor repairs to installing a new heating system (2000); from snow removal to blacktopping the driveway; from painting the church building to ensuring compliance with health & safety standards.

Building Use

Working with other Session committees, B&G regulates and sets policies for building use. All building use requests must be approved by B&G, the office staff, and the Session.

Twice each year (spring & fall), B&G sponsors workdays at the church. Members of the congregation gather to spruce up the property and thoroughly clean the kitchen and bathrooms. These workdays become sources of fun and fellowship as we all pitch in to keep our church looking like new.
