Sunday School
Introduction

Children ages 3 to grade 12 enjoy Sunday School each Sunday morning at 9:15 A.M. Sunday School begins every Sunday with 15 minutes of Gathering Time followed by 45 minutes of learning with one's peers in a nurturing, interactive and safe environment. Our curriculum is age appropriate and taught by volunteers committed to sharing God's love and the gift of Jesus Christ with our youngest friends.

Registration

We ask that each child that attends Sunday School completes a registration form so that we have all the necessary contact and allergy information. You can download and complete the form from the link to the right (in the Forms section) and either send a hard copy with your child to Sunday School or email it to the church office. Registrations forms are also available directly from your child's Sunday School teacher.

Sunday School Classes

Sunday School runs for grades Pre-K through 12 every Sunday, starting September 25th, 2016 and ending with Children and Youth Sunday on June 11th, 2017. Sunday School beings with "Gathering Time" for all ages from 9:15-9:30 A.M. with Pastor Hannah in the Drama Room, followed by 45 minutes of Sunday School from 9:30 - 10:15 A.M., taught by knowledgeable and dedicated volunteer teachers in safe and a supportive classroom environment.

Gathering Time

Sunday School starts with 15 minutes of gathering time (9:15 A.M - 9:30 A.M.) with Pastor Hannah. During this time, we will get to know one another through prayer, singing, sharing and even some games! Children will be sent from Gathering Time to their Sunday school classes for the day's lesson.

Pre-K & Kindergarten, 1st- 3rd, and 4th & 5th Grade Classes

Sunday School starts with 15 minutes of gathering time (9:15 A.M - 9:30 A.M.) with Pastor Hannah. During this time, we will get to know one another through prayer, singing, sharing and even some games! Children will be sent from Gathering Time to their Sunday school classes for the day's lesson.

6th & 7th Grade Class

The 6th & 7th grade class will use the PresbyYouth tween-age curriculum, which offers lessons that are easy-to-use, age-appropriate, scripturally based, and rooted in Reformed tradition. This class focuses on New Testament and Old Testament, alternating each year, to prepare students with the knowledge needed to make the most of their 8th grade confirmation year.

8th Grade Confirmation

Our 8th graders spend the whole year together on a journey towards confirmation. We use Professing Our Faith: A Confirmation Curriculum, which shares a foundation of faith and spiritual practice in the Reformed tradition. It invites young people to explore the meaning of their baptism and their participation at the Lord's Supper, as well as to learn about church polity, stewardship, spiritual practices, worship, and mission. Confirmation is a yearlong exploration of how each student might finish the sentence: This I believe...

High School Sunday School

High Schoolers meet weekly under the leadership of Pastor Suzanne to study the day's lectionary passages guided by the Feasting on the Word Curriculum. This curriculum provides opportunities for youth to explore their personal and communal identity in Jesus Christ through meaningful community-building experiences, engaging Bible study, and relevant learning activities. In response to God's amazing, unconditional love, youth will be challenged to put their faith into action as they grow to understand themselves as Christ's disciples. More often than not, the Scripture studied in this Sunday school class will align with the Scripture read and preached on during worship.

Celebration Sundays!

In addition to these weekly Sunday School meetings we offer several Celebration Sundays (9:15 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.) planned throughout the year which are open to the whole congregation-children, couples, families and seniors alike! On celebration Sundays, we all gather in the Fellowship Hall to learn a bible story though many mediums - film, song, story, drama, crafts, prayer and mission.
