Together for Joy: Vacation Bible School 2024
“I like to dance 'cuz I've got the joy
I like to dance 'cuz I've got the joy
I like to dance dance dance 'cuz I've got the joy
I've got the joy of the Lord in my heart”
Vacation Bible School is a time of boundless joy and fellowship where children and adults come together to celebrate their faith and build lasting relationships. Starting each day with the song “I like to dance…”, 72 children from 2 to 10 years old plus 14 youth volunteers and 21 adults spent the morning singing and dancing, listening to bible stories, arts, crafts & science projects and playtime. Those who attended included Sunday school children, God and Me Playgroup children, children from local towns, out of town grandchildren of church members, and even four children from Italy who were visiting family in Cranbury.
One of the most special moments of the VBS week was when the oldest VBS class took a walking field trip to the Elms Rehabilitation center to decorate the grounds with rocks hand painted by all the VBS children. The oldest class also took this opportunity to visit with one of our church members convalescing at the Elms. The class greeted her through her window and sang her three VBS songs. VBS provides the children of our church and the broader community with an opportunity to appreciate the role the church can play, not only in their individual lives, but in the lives of those around them as well.
Words of Gratitude for the 2024 Seekers and Sneakers VBS:
- I don't just like it I LOVE it!
- All three of my kids had the best time today! Their favorite was washing their feet. They've been wearing their new socks all day!
- Thank you so much for all the planning and implementing such an amazing experience this week for the kids!! [My twins] had so much fun and learned so much!! Thank you again to everyone.
- The youth volunteers are amazing! Their service and dedication to VBS is a gift that will live on and on. Bless them, and all your beautiful children.
